Bouquet Aromatic red berry and black forest fruits with notes of cranberry, dark cherry, cassis and plum all evident.
Palate Natural fruit sweetness drives the palate with flavours of blackberry, plum, tobacco and a touch of spice to round it out. The soft balanced tannins and acid provides the core structure. The tannins and acid combined with the intense long finish ensure the longevity of this exceptional wine.
Winemaking The Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro fruit were all sourced from the Greenock region of the Barossa Valley from low yielding old vines. The fruit was hand picked and delivered to the winery and gently worked through the de-stemmer before being transferred to an open fermenter. The juice was pumped over twice a day for seven days to extract, homogenize and regulate temperature before draining and loading the basket press. The skins are then gently pressed for approximately 20 hours to retrieve more of the essence of the grape. This juice is then blended with the juice collected earlier. After the wine has completed its malolactic ferment, it is matured in seasoned French oak barrels for 12 months prior to bottling.
Cellaring Potential Great to drink now whilst young and vibrant, but will mature and develop complexity over the next 5-8 years.

A delightfully spicy plum nose that’s intense and warm. The palate is big and ripe, but balanced with plenty of plum fruit flavours. The soft tannins build to a firm finish.
Patrick Eckel Wine Reviewer – 94 POINTS
An inky dark red in the glass with a nose that is a heady mix of blackberry, plum, liquorice all sorts and understated tobacco. The palate is medium to full bodied and provides a supple, generous expression of black fruits that slowly show a more savoury and sullen side with earth, tobacco and charcuterie notes making themselves known. The finish has drive and presence with well-defined blackberry fruit interjected by oak induced spice and layered tannins.

The value here is incredible.
